OTHER HIGHLIGHTS
A trip to Veegaland

Education should not be confined within the four walls of a classroom. Excursions are very important source of information and it enables a student to develop a holistic personality. An excursion is a medicine for a tired brain and weak body. Besides, excursion provides and amusement and recreation. This year we had the fortune to go to the famous park in Kerala- Veegaland. We started from the school at 6o'clock. We sang and played in the bus. We reached the park at 10 o'clock. We decided to play the water games first.

Among the water games, the rapid river was the most interesting. It had ten stages. Then we went to a pool and went through snake slides. It was really a thrilling experience. Time flew fast and it was time for lunch. We had our lunch in a restaurant inside the park. Then we went to the wave pool, where we played with waves. The ride in the 'Wonder Splash' was wonderful.

The musical fountain was really a visual feast. The dancing of the water was really superb. Among the dry games we chose the crazy cars first. The magic carpet, the flying boat, the dancing cars, tornado, net walk, giant wheel... all filled us with pleasure.

It was an unforgettable day in our life. It taught us how to care and share. The mingling of art, nature and technology really amazed us. For a moment we thought about the wonders of science.

Archery

Archery was included in Olympics in the 19th centaury. In India it started in the year 1973. Archery occupies a unique position in the field of sports. It enables us to increase our power of concentration. It sharpens our brain and mind. Like any other game, it instills good sportsman spirit. Hence due importance is given to archery in "THE OXFORD SCHOOL".
